Winter Splendor
The subtle beauty of a crisp winter day in captured in this dried floral piece composed entirely of natural materials. The natural tones of twigs, dried vines and preserved evergreen leaves form a backdrop for the seasonal accent elements of cones and dried fruits and berries.
Monches FarmÕs floral designers Sue Morgan and Johanna Kleckner have been creating floral art with dried and silk flowers for over 25 years.
They can work with you to create a custom everlasting piece for your home using your design colors and reflecting your personal style. Call them at Monches Farm at 262-966-2787 for a consultation.
To create this piece Sue used the following dried natural materials:
1 grapevine wall basket
3 large natural sugar pine cones
2 medium green sugar pine cones
12 preserved green salal leaves
10 short branches preserved cedar
1 bunch tallow berries
1 bandam nut
3 dried pomegranates
5 cinnamon sticks
1 dried artichoke blossom
3 pine cone roses
1 bunch preserved tortum
2 curly sticks
1 piece floral foam

green moss

Begin by wiring the floral foam into the grapevine basket. Next, fill around foam with green moss and glue 3 large natural pine cones and 2 green pine cones into place. Tie the cinnamon sticks with raffia and glue on top of the pine cones. Now, glue in the artichoke blossom and bandam nut, then glue in salal leaves and cedar stems, spacing evenly throughout piece. Finally, glue in tallow berries, pomegranates, pinecone roses and preserved tortum and enjoy.
